The thin line between right or wrong

cyber terrorism is a big concern at the international system, not only because it threatens directly a political view, ideology or belief, but also because now treats and attacks can be made by a remote location without ever being in contact with anyone or specific place. This is the most worrisome aspect of cyber terrorism, as we can se in this video, some one claiming to be ISIS hacked into the CENTCOM tweeter page and also stole some information from the main web page. Never the less, this attack could have been make by any computer savvy and not necessarily a member of ISIS. 

On the other hand, now a days people have more and more power over the internet, we've been witness of how the civil society takes matters into their own hands via internet, protesting on tweeter, Facebook or any other social media, having a great impact worldwide. These social movements are more and more common and countries around the world are being forced to acknowledge them and consider them as a relevant actor inside the international system.

The perfect example for this empowering of the civil society would be the group ANONYOMUS. Many people think of this group as a terrorist organization, due to its harsh and direct way to adress the world, but the truth is that most of the time, this organization is mainly neutral, and its only purpose its to free and to stop the excessive control of information going around the internet.

In this next video we can see the response of ANONYMOUS to the hacking of CENTCOM by ISIS members, here we can clearly see  the amount of power that this group has, and once again we can observe how the internet is the perfect platform for those who seek power but do not have the sufficient means to obtain it by the traditional way

Its a reality that the internet is a great tool for our hectic life, but its also a huge unknown universe that contains a grat number of threats, not only for individuals, but more so to states and international organizations.
